4-Way Slick Tire Tuning Guide

Watermark

This tuning guide is intended for use with Reaper Suspension’s 4-Way shock for a 28x10.5 or 29x10.5 drag slick tire application.

4-Way Adjustment Basics

  • All adjustments should be made from full tight (fully clockwise) on both high-speed (HSC) and low-speed (LSC) compression, and high-speed (HSR) and low-speed (LSR) rebound.
  • HSC and LSC adjusters are located on the compression head near the canister.
  • HSR is located on the rod guide, and LSR is located on the shaft—regardless of shock orientation.
  • Adjust in small increments (2–3 clicks) per pass.
  • Use a 9/64” Allen key for HSC, LSC, and HSR. Do not force beyond the stop to avoid damage.

Baseline Settings (Starting/Reset Point)

  • High-Speed Compression (HSC): 12 clicks from full tight
  • Low-Speed Compression (LSC): 12 clicks from full tight
  • High-Speed Rebound (HSR): 4 clicks from full tight
  • Low-Speed Rebound (LSR): 12 clicks from full tight

Track Condition Recommended Adjustments

Track Condition HSC LSC HSR LSR
Good / Excellent Track 12 12 4 12
Hot / Greasy Track 10 10 6 14

Tuning Notes

  • For improved traction on marginal tracks, soften HSC and LSC slightly to control hit.
  • To reduce wheel hop, increase LSR gradually and reassess rebound response.
  • Always monitor shock data and tire feedback for fine-tuning.
